Yes, Reflections and Diseased State have been re-recorded (and revised slightly from their original versions) - they're closest to what I had originally envisioned for each and felt the need to bring them back for this disc!
Gap Part IV was only re-named - the music is the same from earlier previews. It's the track called Ourselves...
Guitarist Glenn Snelwar is perhaps best known for his contributions to Gordian Knot's eponymous debut, a project led by Chapman Stick player Sean Malone that featured guest performances by Trey Gunn (King Crimson), Sean Reinert (Cynic) & John Myung (Dream Theater). Snelwar helped co-write three of the songs for Gordian Knot, as well as contributing guitar work. Since his involvement with Gordian Knot, Snelwar has been working under the project name At War With Self and incorporating mandolin, keyboard and string section programming into a foundation of classical, steel string and electric guitar to great effect. The main purpose of At War With Self is to explore the concept of creating progressive music by incorporating different musicians, styles, instrumentation and themes from one CD to the next.
It's great to read it! Reflections on its third version and Diseased State for the second time. = D
ReplyDeleteBut what happened to The Gap in the Stream of Mind (Part IV)?
Thanks Piet!
